Karen Hubbard, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Pam Hendrickson, Laura Holdrige and Lori Dudley Wood, all sorority sisters of the bride; and Rhonda Kidman, sister of the groom. Mindy Conner, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
David Hodges, father of the groom, served as his son's best man. Ushers were David Short, brother of the bride; Glenn Gamble, friend of the groom; BrianKidman, brother-in-law of the groom; and Stacey Belcher, cousin of the groom. Shayne Short, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a portrait neckline satin gown with asequin and beaded bodice and cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white roses, miniature carnations, stephanotis, baby's breath and green ivy accented with pearls and ribbons.
The guestbook was attended by Babs Paige, close friend of the bride and groom. Wedding music was performed by David and Linda Hodges, parents of the groom; JoAnn Stegall and Mark Stegall. Brenda Davis was the pianist and Susan Smith was the organist. Helen Hungate directed the wedding and Chris Heller catered the reception. Flowers wereprovided by Melissa Conner of Unique Designs. The bride is the daughter of Russell L. Short and Bonnie C. Hartsel, both of Vinton. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School, Emory and Henry College and Virginia Commonwealth University. Linda is employed by the Council ofCommunity Services in Roanoke.
The groom is the son of David and Linda Hodges, also of Vinton. He is a graduate of William Byrd High School. Ty is employed by Precision Fabrics Group, Inc. in Vinton.
Following the honeymoon, thenewlyweds will make their home in Vinton.
