MICHIE-PORTERFIELD
Melissa Carol Porterfield and David Wayne Michie were married June 26, 1993
in Layman Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Albert E. Richardson. The reception
was held at the Vinton War Memorial. The matron of honor was Pamela Vest,
cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids were Sherry Ray, cousin of the bride,
Rebecca Michie, sister of the groom and Kimberly States, friend of the bride.
The flowergirls were Cassandra Ray, cousin of the bride, and Rachael Michie,
cousin of the groom. The best man was Wayne Michie, father of the groom. The
ushers were GaryKazanjian, Jonathan Vest and Michael Drewery, all friends of
the groom. The ringbearer was Jordan Ray. The guestbook was attended by Rachel
Smith. Music was provided by Charlotte Ridenhour. Photography was provided by
JimMarkey. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin C. Porterfield of
Roanoke. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and Roanoke College.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne R. Michie of Roanoke, is a graduate
of Cave Spring High School, Roanoke College and is a student at Medical
College of Virginia, School of Medicine. The newlyweds will live in
Mechanicsville.
