PASSPORT RENEWAL

and probably should - mail it. If you're renewing a passport, says the State Department, mailing in your application will avoid the long lines at regional passport offices.

Mail renewals must include the expired passport, issued within the last 12 years on or after your 18th birthday; a renewal application; two identical photos; a $55 fee; and in the case of name changes, a certified copy of a marriage certificate or court order. Applications are available at passport offices and selected post offices. Information: (202) 647-0518.
