OBIT WOOD, EDNA GAYE BELCHER

WOOD, Edna Gaye Belcher, 78, of Floyd, passed away Sunday, June 27, 1993, in a Salem hospital. She was born June 25, 1915, in Patrick County, the daughter of John Wesley (Dude) and Ollie Boyd Belcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Luther Wood. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Ruth Wood, Salem; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elree and Lendell Craig, Meadows of Dan, Nelene and Charles Wood, Floyd, Barbara and Delmer Belcher, Floyd; six grandchildren, Garland Wood, David Wood, Shelia Thompson, Judi Wood, Sherry Wood, Patricia Ballinger; four great-grandchildren, Stacy Wood, Christopher Thompson, Jonathan Ballinger, Casey Ballinger; three brothers, Wesley Belcher, Meadows of Dan, Herbert Belcher, John Abe Belcher, both of Floyd; three sisters, Audrey Cockram, Stuart, Treva Underwood, Meadows of Dan, Eva Conner, Floyd. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bryan Childress officiating. Burial will be in Slate Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
