SUMMER SYMPOSIUM HAS POLISH GUEST

The Center for Public Administration and Policy is sponsoring a special summer symposium on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Thomas-Conner House, 104 Draper Road.

Honored guests will be Jacek Kucharzewski, Mayor of Opole, Poland, and Elmer C. Hodge, administrator of Roanoke County.

Following a discussion on local government and public management in Poland, Kucharzewski will answer questions on current developments in Poland and its transition to democracy and a market economy.

Interested people will meet at noon at The Farmhouse restaurant for a Dutch-treat lunch.

At 1:30 p.m., guests and others may tour Cowgill Hall and meet with administrators and faculty of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
