ROANOKE STAR TEAM IN CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

At Terra Haute, Ind., the Roanoke Star 11-under girls' basketball team advanced to the championship bracket of the National AAU Junior Olympic tournament. Roanoke will play two games today after advancing from pool play.

Shauna Rey Walker and Gina Guthrie were the leading scorers as the Stars went 2-1 in pool play. Roanoke lost to Atlanta 49-43 on Saturday, defeated Inland Empire (Wash.) 58-40 on Sunday and whipped Lake Erie (Ohio) 45-16 on Monday.
