Salem police said the driver was an 80-year-old woman. The woman was not hurt and two occupants in the first vehicle she struck had only minor injuries, a department spokesman said.
He said the woman drove through the intersection without stopping and hit the vehicle. She lost control of her car, which then went onto the auto-shop lot. It damaged four parked cars and tore off the lower half of the garage door.
Police charged the woman with failure to stop for a stop sign.
