OBIT EATON, DONALD STARRITT

EATON, Donald Starritt, 61, of Pembroke, died Sunday morning June 27, 1993, at his home. Born in Powhatan, W.Va., he was a son of Mrs. Paige White Eaton of Pembroke and the late Preston S. Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; a graduate of Pearisburg High School Class of 1951; attended Concord College and graduated from MCV School of Pharmacy; was employed as a pharmacist with Hometown Pharmacies; was a member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church; a life member of the Pearisburg Jaycees; and had the distinction of playing baseball with the Bluff City Ducks. He is survived by his wife, Janice Young Eaton; four sons, Gregory Kent Eaton of Blacksburg; William Starritt Eaton of Altus, Okla., Jon Keith Eaton of Pembroke, Donald Starrit Eaton Jr. of Pembroke; two daughters, Karen Eaton Humphries of Blacksburg, Suzanne Leigh Eaton of Pembroke; two brothers, William K. Eaton of Newport and Gerlald L. Eaton of Pembroke; five sisters, Peggy E. Body of Pembroke, Patricia E. Cass of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jackie E. Bailey of Roanoke, Sarah E. Strole of Burlington, N.C., Frances E. Martin of Marietta, Ga.; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Pembroke First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond S. Kelley and the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
