OBIT DULANEY, AVIS AKERS
DULANEY, Avis Akers, 81, of Alum Ridge, passed away Monday, June 28, 1993,
at Radford Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by an infant son,
Paul Douglas Dulaney. She is survived by her husband, Alpha F. Dulaney, Alum
Ridge; one son, Wayne Dulaney, Floyd; five daughters and four sons-in-law,
Prentis and Mavon Thompson, Floyd, Ruth and James Akers, Roanoke, Virginia and
Billy Cromer, Floyd, Paula Hubbard, Roanoke, Mary and Paul Dress, Vinton;
three sisters, Rhetta Howell, Rheba Alley, both of Floyd, Aldean Akers,
Willis; nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the
Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Burial will be
in the Duncan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
