KING, Ruby Cecil Walker, 97, of 2127 Sandalwood Rd., Virginia Beach, died
June 28, 1993, in Virginia Beach. She was born in Chatham and was the widow of
Joel Wilkerson King. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara King Earnhardt,
Virginia Beach; one son, Joel Walker King, Alexandria; grandchildren, Dr.
Carol T. Pritchard, Virginia Beach, Glenn P. Thomason, AIA, Richmond, Kenneth
King, Deborah King Wynn, Karen King, all of Roanoke, Randy King, Alexandria,
Barry King, Los Angeles, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Scott and Andy
Pritchard, both of Virginia Beach, William Lucas King, Roanoke; several nieces
and nephews. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 1993, 3
p.m., Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, with Dr. Harry Y. Gamble, Ret.,
former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive
friends on Friday, July 2 at the residence, 2127 Sandalwood Rd., Virginia
Beach from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
Residents' Council at Sentara Nursing Center (Rosemont Rd.), 3750 Sentara Way,
Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
