MONTGOMERY DEMOCRATIC CHAIRWOMAN LEADS MENTAL-HEALTH BOARD

Lindsay West has been elected to a third one-year term as chairwoman of the state Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services Board.

West, elected Wednesday in Richmond, is chairwoman of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. She served 12 years on the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors.

West is the state board's liaison to all area community services boards in Health Planning Region 3, as well as to two state facilities, Southwestern Mental Health Institute and Southwestern Virginia Training Center.
