OBIT-BOLLING, WILLIE R., ("PAPA BILL")

BOLLING, Willie R., ("Papa Bill"), 83, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 1993, in a local hospital. He was a retired fireman for Roanoke City. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Rose Flint. He is survived by his wife, Muriel Walker Bolling; three sons, J. Roy Bolling, Roanoke, Billy Ravone Bolling, Mobile, Ala., Douglas R. Bolling, Va. Beach; one daughter, Pansy B. Linkous, Roanoke; four stepchildren, Joe Clare, Ft. Myers, Fla., James Givens, Charles Givens, both of Roanoke, Joyce Cole, Roanoke; one brother, Woodrow Bolling, Danville; three sisters, Zella Boger, Graham, N.C., Eleanor Burke, Siler City, N.C., Lucille McDowell, Roanoke; 12 grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 22 stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 1993, from the Garden City Baptist Church with the Rev. Don E. McCaskill officiating. Burial to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
