OBIT-UNDERWOOD, FRED LAWSON
UNDERWOOD, Fred Lawson, 65, of Route 4, Vinton, died Wednesday, June 30,
1993, at his home after a short illness with cancer. He was born in Franklin
County to Walter and Luetta Stump Underwood on April 19, 1928. He was a member
of Faith Life Baptist Church in Montvale. He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Herman and Walter Thurman Underwood. Surviving are is wife, Rosalie
B. Underwood of Vinton; two sons, Stephen A. and Shannon L. Underwood of
Vinton; one sister, Mae Duncan of Roanoke; a mother-in-law, Ethel Blevins of
Sparta, N.C.; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted from the Faith Life Baptist Church in Montvale at 2 p.m. Friday,
with the Rev. Johnny Basham and Mr. Patrick Wheeling officiating. Burial will
be in the Holy Land USA Cemetery in Bedford. Family will receive friends from
7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
