UVA GOLFERS SELECTED ALL-STATE

University of Virginia golfers dominated the collegiate All-State team announced Thursday.

The Cavaliers' Simon Cooke, Dean Smith, Dan Ladd and Tripp Shreves were chosen to the first team and Jimmy Flippen was a second-team choice in balloting by the state's coaches.

Virginia Tech's Brian Sharp made the first team, and Clayton Friend made the second.

Completing the first team was Steve Jamroz of Richmond.

Also on the second team were Virginia Commonwealth's Jeremy Greville and Scott Blanks and Old Dominion's Jeff Ruotolo.
