OBIT-GARRISON, DORIS JUNE HATCHER

GARRISON, Doris June Hatcher, 70, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 30, 1993, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Garrison Jr., and a granddaughter, Lisa Kay Garrison. She taught school at St. Andrews Elementery School in Roanoke. Surviving are a son and his companion, Sam Garrison and Mark S. Harris of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn G. and S. Rodney Peters of Shawsville; two grandsons, David A. Garrison of Philadelphia, Pa. and Christopher R. Peters of Shawsville; one granddaughter, Tina Michelle Greenway of Troutville; one great-grandson, Adam A. Garrison of Manteo, N.C.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Madeline H. and Everett M. Collins of Virginia Beach, Delores H. and Meredith D. Van Valkenburgh of Cannon Beach, Ore., Barbara H. and Kenneth E. Spencer of Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack R. and Dorothy A. Garrison of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Margaret G. Wiseman of Houston, Texas; several dear nieces and nephews; a lifetime dear friend, Jean S. Hammersley. A memorial mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Joseph H. Metzger officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 9 E. Church Ave., Roanoke, VA. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lotz Funeral Home in Roanoke.
