OBIT-BERNARD, HATTIE MCCRICKARD
BERNARD, Hattie McCrickard, 93, of Penhook, died Wednesday, June 30, 1993,
in a local nursing home. She was the widow of J. Silas Bernard. Surviving are
five daughters, Julia Walker, Penhook, Gertude McAlexander, Martinsville,
Estelle Lovell, Cascade, Dorothy Martin, and Shiree Ashby, both of Penhook;
one son, Douglas Bernard, Penhook; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;
and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday,
2 p.m., Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren, with Rev. J.D. Harmon and the
Rev. Jimmy Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Flora Funeral
Service, 342 South Main St., Rocky Mount.
