FIREWORKS HIT CROWD IN TENN., 15 INJURED

At least 15 people were injured Sunday night when a fireworks shell fell into a crowd on State Street.

The crowd was standing in the street that is the Tennessee-Virginia border when the shell hit, authorities said.

A spokeswoman at the Bristol Regional Medical Center said the 15 people were being treated late Sunday and two of the victims would probably be hospitalized for treatment of serious burns.

The accident, which happened on the Tennessee side of State Street, cut short the fireworks celebration in downtown. - Associated Press
