ALLEN BEGINS TOUR OF STATE IN BLACKSBURG

Republican gubernatorial candidate George Allen on Monday began a motor-home tour that he said will take him to all corners of the state to listen to the concerns of Virginians.

Allen said he is beginning the tour in Southwest Virginia because the people of that region have long felt neglected by politicians in Richmond.

He said he was unsure how long he would be on the road.

"It'll be as many weeks as it takes to get all over Virginia," he said.

The tour will be in Blacksburg today and includes stops in 17 other Southwest Virginia localities this week. - Associated Press
