OBIT-OWENS, MS. EVELYN REBECCA
OWENS, Ms. Evelyn Rebecca, 35, of the Fox Ridge Apartment Complex,
Blacksburg, formerly of Princeton, W.Va., died Sunday, July 4, 1993, in a
Roanoke hospital. Born at Princeton, she was the daughter of Anna Mae Dickens
Owens of Princeton and the late Grover Jennings Owens. She had graduated from
Princeton High School in 1976, she had received her associated degree in
Respiratory Therapy and earned her Bachlors of Science degree in Business
Administration with a concentration in accounting from Bluefield State
College. She had completed her education with studies from Bowman Gray
Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Bethesday Hospital in Bethesda,
Maryland for a Echocardiographer. She was a member of the Carr Memorial united
Methodist Church, Glenwood Park. In addition to her mother she is survived by
one brother, Steven Bradley Owens of Princeton. Funeral services will be held
11 a.m. Wednesday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral
Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton, with Reverend Bryan Carpenter
officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the
Courthouse Road in Princeton. The family will receive friends today (Tuesday)
from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that contributions be made to the Evelyn Owens Leukemia Fund at the First
National Bank of Christiansburg, P.O. Box 600, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
These funds will be used for a bone marrow donor registration campaign.
