OBIT-ROMANS, ROBERT E., (`BOB')
ROMANS, Robert E., (`BOB'), 81, of Marion, died Monday, July 5, 1993, in
Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Romans was a member of the Marion Baptist
Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Okie Pennington Romans. He is
survived by his son, Robert Mayne (`Rob`) Romans of Glade Spring; a very
special friend, Leona D. Preston of Marion; five sisters, Polly Patton of
Chilhowie, Ruth Patton and Helen Tilson, both of Marion, Eva Vaught of
Manassas and Lou Hutton of Arlington; two brothers, Richard Romans and Rev.
Bennett Romans, both of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services
will be held Wednesday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at the Marion Baptist Church with
Dr. William A. Slater and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Entombment will
follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery where Masonic Rites will be conducted by Marion
Masonic Lodge, #31 A.F. & A.M. The body will be taken to the church one hour
before the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to
9 at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of the
arrangements.
