NAMES ON CAMPUS

Six New River Valley residents are recent graduates of the College of Health Sciences at Community Hospital of Roanoke.

\ SHARON WOOD of Pilot and DORIS ANN BROERE of Blacksburg graduated magna cum laude.

\ MICHAEL DAVIS of Elliston was honored at graduation with the physical therapist assistant program's Jo R. Erwin Clinical Achievement Award.

\ MONICA NICOLE CROMER and WILLIAM CHARLES RINSDALE, both of Christiansburg, received associate degrees in nursing.

\ SARA HENLEY of Dublin received a certificate from the phlebotomy technician program.

\ NATHAN DROWNE of Blacksburg and Tracee Radford and Chris Workman, both of Christiansburg, have been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Emory & Henry College.

National Business College graduates with bachelor's degrees in business administration are RANDALL BUTT and KRAIG ANDRE NEIDIGH of Christiansburg and FREDDIE McCORMICK of Pearisburg.

Associate degrees have been given to JOYCE BOWER ATKINS of Floyd; LORI ATKINSON, TIA COLLINS, DONNA CROSS, LINDA FISHER and CAROL KING of Elliston; JASON BEEKEN, KRIN GRAHAM, KEVIN SCOTT WILTSEE and BONNIE WOOLWINE of Christiansburg; JENNIFER EPPERLY of Shawsville; DONNA FLINCHUM of Pearisburg; JANET OLIVER, MARK WEAVER and EDNA MALONE of Blacksburg; RICHARD TODD NEESE of Wytheville; ANGELA SWORD of McCoy; and ROSANNE TICKLE, TONYA AKERS and THOMAS WEEKS II of Radford. Diploma candidates include TAMMY LYNN AKERS of Shawsville.

\ EDDIE GRAY of Blacksburg, a junior at James Madison University, was named to the president's list for the fall semester and the dean's list for the spring semester.

The communications and English major is the son of Curtis and Peggy Gray.

\ CRYSTAL LYNNE MARCHMAN, a student at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester.

She is the daughter of James and Marshall Marchman of Blacksburg.

\ DAVID JORTNER, member of the class of 1993 of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., has been awarded a Periclean Scholar Award from the college.

He is the son of Bernard and Carol Jortner of Blacksburg.

\ KIMBERLY DAWN YOUNG, graduate of Southern Virginia College for Women, has been named a Collegiate Scholastic All-American for superior academic performance.

She is the daughter of Teresa Young of Christiansburg.

Bridgewater College has given bachelor's degrees to DAVID ROLAND BYRD of Blacksburg; MELISSA K. MILLER of Copper Hill and STEPHEN D. NICHOLS of Floyd.

Emory & Henry College student MELISSA SUMNER of Christiansburg sang at the state conference of the National Association of Teachers in Singing in Roanoke. She received an "excellent" rating.

Sumner, a sophomore, has been awarded the Kathy Bingham Scholarship. She is the daughter of Sandra and Daniel Sumner.

\ BRENNER A. BOYD, Pulaski County High School graduate, was a valedictorian at the North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

\ DENISE MARRIOTT, a 1989 Blacksburg High School graduate, received a bachelor's degree from George Mason University.

She was a Mason scholar from the 9th Congressional District.

\ MAY LYN WAKE of Blacksburg has received an associate degree from Rivier College of Nashua, N.H. She is studying at Radford University.

\ JON MAHER, Blacksburg High School graduate and student at Johns Hopkins University, will attend the World Scholar-Athlete Games in Newport, R.I., as a basketball player.

\ JOCELINE CHAKIB MASRI of Pearisburg has received the 1993-94 Cornelson-Halsey Leadership Award at Hollins College.

\ SABRINA ANN HARRIS and WESLEY EUGENE WARNER, both of Blacksburg, are receiving bachelor's degrees from Emory & Henry College.

Harris is the daughter of Herbert and Margit Harris.

Warner is the son of Page and Debra Warner of Blacksburg and Dawn Laughlin of New Orleans.
