PARGO'S IS A HIT, NOT A MISS

AS I have been reading comments on your recent review of Pargo's, I feel I must add my two cents' worth.

The evening before your review came out, we dined at Pargo's with friends. We wanted them to experience the same delightful fare, the attentive service and the ambience that has so pleased us in the past.

Imagine our astonishment upon reading your dining critic's review the next morning (June 25 Dining Out column by Dolores Kostelni, "Roanoke Pargo's: hit or miss"). Indeed, the dish she described as "foul-smelling" was precisely what I had had for dinner the previous night! Not only did I find it to be fresh, beautifully presented and seasoned to perfection, but it was so good that I took the leftovers home and ate them for lunch the next day.

My husband and I wish to congratulate Pargo's on providing the community with a restaurant that is excellent in every respect. KATHY SHIFFER ROANOKE
