The contest will begin at noon and will feature misshapened potatoes, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers or any other vegetable.
The contest will be one of several events celebrating the market's second summer at Main and Broad streets in downtown Salem.
Activities, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., will include bluegrass music, the Purple Dinosaur, a country line dance demonstration, and a fiddle and banjo program.
Farmers will sell locally grown produce from 6 a.m. until sunset. The market is open from April 1 through Dec. 30.
