FIREWORKS NOT THE ONLY SHOW IN THE SKY

WHAT A wonderful Fourth of July weekend it was!

My husband and I attended the 15th annual "Music for Americans," sponsored by the Roanoke Times & World-News on July 3 at Victory Stadium. It was one of the best, and we thank you for planning it each year.

On July 4, we had the privilege of attending the "Celebrate America!" program, presented by the chancel choir, chancel orchestra and soloists at First Baptist Church. As always, it was outstanding.

We left both events proud to be Americans, and we appreciate all the time and effort that goes into these presentations.

An impressive thing happened at the stadium, which was not planned by man. Just before the fireworks, as the audience stood to sing "The Star Spangled Banner," the full moon could be seen rising from behind Mill Mountain. Could God have been reminding us of his part in making America the great country it is? CARY GILMER ROANOKE
