FOR THE RECORD

Because of a reporter's error, a July 4th story about the Music for Americans Concert in Roanoke incorrectly identified one of Janice King's 12-year-old sons. His name is Nathan.

The Associated Press reported erroneously in Thursday's paper that the government would reduce by nearly half the number of weeks that newly laid-off workers can receive jobless benefits.

Actually, the reduction affects only those unemployed workers who apply for additional benefits under a federal emergency program after they have exhausted their state unemployment insurance.

Roanoke Post 3 South player Tony Russell's name was misspelled in a story Thursday about an American Legion baseball game.
