BODY IS DISCOVERED ALONG STAFFORD CREEK

A body was found Wednesday morning on the bank of a creek, Stafford County authorities said.

The unidentified body, which was decomposed, was discovered by a Marine who was fishing at the creek just east of U.S. 1, said Capt. Charles Jett of the county Sheriff's Office.

A rope was tied around the neck, and part of the rope was on a tree, Jett said. The body has been sent to a medical examiner's office. - Associated Press
