Higdon, an executive committee member of Salomon Brothers Inc. and co-head of its global investment banking division, will assume his duties Oct. 1, university President John Casteen said.
Higdon, 47, replaces John W. Rosenblum, who announced in October that he would not seek another term as dean. C. Ray Smith is serving as interim dean.
Higdon's 20-year career with Salomon Brothers involved several large deals, representing IBM, Time-Warner, World Bank and CPC International in major strategic and financial transactions. - Associated Press
