OBIT COX, JAMES EARL SR.

COX, James Earl Sr., 71, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 1993. Survivors include his wife, Malinda B. Cox; three daughters, Pamela L. Cox, Evie C. Jordan, and Cherlyn Taylor; four sons, James E. Cox Jr., William R. Cox, Mark A. Cox, and Richard L. Cox; stepmother, Minnie Cox; two sisters, Lorene Jamison, all of Roanoke, and Minnie Saunders of Salem; one brother, Elijah Jones; two daughters-in-law, Victoria Cox, and Lisa Cox; one grandson, William D. Wright, all of Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dwight O. Steele will officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
