OBIT QUESENBERRY, GARLENE NEWMAN

QUESENBERRY, Garlene Newman, 74, of Independence, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 1993 at Pulaski Hospital. She was the widow of the late Ross Quesenberry. She was born December 3, 1918 in Carroll County to Garland and Lena Porter Newman. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Independence. She organized the Independence Firemen's Auxillary and served as president. She was a retired merchant. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Donald Wilson, Pulaski, Marlia Jean and Bobby Pegram, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandsons, Mark Dustin Wilson, Matthew Ross Wilson, both of Pulaski; a sister, Mrs. Rita Nichols, Independence; and special friends, John and Ruth Anders, Independence. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 9, 1993 at 11 a.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Fred E. Jennings and Elder Curtis Hash officiating. Interment in Independence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Independence Firemen's Auxillary or to Independence Vol. Fire Dept. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
