PENNINGTON-BOWERS

Barbara Bowers and Vic Pennington were married Saturday, July 10, 1993, in Vinton Baptist Church with the Reverend William E. Hungate officiating. The reception was held at Radisson Patrick Henry Hotel.

Sharon Ernest was her sister's matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Karen Bowers, sister-in-law of the bride, from Columbus, Ms.; Jennifer Duff, cousin of the bride, from Baltimore, Md.; Kelly Buck and Candy Griffin, friends of the bride and groom. Barb's niece, Lindsey Ernest, was junior bridesmaid, and her nephew, Drew Ernest, was ringbearer. Flowergirls were Casey and Malory Bowers, nieces of the bride.

Staley Pennington, father of the groom, served as his son's best man. Ushers were Ryan Pennington, brother of the groom; Alec McRoy, Steve Pugh, Zeph Cunningham, and Glenn Griffin, friends of the bride and groom. Candlelighters were Ron and Michael Bowers, brothers of the bride.

The bride is a daughter of Edgar and Polina Bowers, of Vinton. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and Radford University.

The groom is a son of Staley and Carolyn Pennington, also of Vinton. He is a graduate of William Byrd High School and the J. Sargeant Reynolds-Medical College of Virginia Dental Technician's Program. He is employed by Pennington Crown and Bridge Dental Laboratory.

The newlyweds will reside in Roanoke after their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico.
