Sub Shack opened last June and was profitable in its first week, said Chuck Rogol, one of three partners who own the eatery.
"It's been terrific," he said.
Last month, construction crews knocked down one of Sub Shack's walls so the restaurant could double its size to 2,400 square feet and add pizza to the menu.
It's now suitably called Sub Shack + Pizza.
"I really believe we have the best pizza in the area," he said.
Rogol said the investment in the original Sub Shack was about $36,000 and the expansion cost $50,000. He said a second Sub Shack location probably will be built sometime next year.
"After that we will think about franchising it out," he said. "A lot of people already think it's a franchise."
Rogol said Sub Shack's business hasn't been hurt much by the recent influx of restaurants around the Market Place.
Taco Bell, Applebee's and Checkers have opened in the last month.
"I think they bring more people to the area," he said. "If the line is long at one of the new places then a lot of people decide to jump over and pick up some subs.
