BLACKSBURG SUNFISH 2ND AT SWIM MEET

The Blacksburg Sunfish scored a season-high 978 points as they finished second in a three-way meet July 5 at the Briarwood pool in Roanoke.

Roanoke Country Club won the tri-meet with 1,268 points. Radford finished third with 437.

Double winners for the Sunfish (all distances in meters) are:\ \ GOLD DIVISION

\ Boys 11-12: Bobby Newcomb, 50 breast stroke and 100 freestyle.

\ Boys 15-16: Whit Hughston, 50 breast stroke and 100 freestyle.

\ Men 25-and-over: James Wolfe, 50 breast stroke and 100 freestyle.\ SILVER DIVISION

\ Women 19-24: Karin Solberg, 50 breast stroke and 100 freestyle.

\ Boys 9-10: Billy Newcomb, 25 breast stroke and 100 freestyle.

\ Men 25-and-over: Geoff Saunders, 50 breast stroke and 100 freestyle.\ \ BRONZE DIVISION
