TORGERSEN NAMED ACTING DEAN OF ENGINEERING

Paul Torgersen, who until 1990 had served as dean of Virginia Tech's College of Engineering, will serve as acting dean for the college until a replacement can be found for Wayne Clough.

Clough is leaving the deanship after three years to become the provost at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Torgersen, who had held the post for 20 years, also has served as acting vice president for development and university relations and was once acting president for the university. Torgersen's term will begin Aug. 15 and will continue until a nationwide search is completed.
