OBIT RODGERS, MARTEL OLIVER

RODGERS, Martel Oliver, ("Pops"), 92, of Brian Nursing Home, Fincastle, and formerly of New Castle, died Monday, July 12, 1993, in a Salem hospital. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, R.B. (Buddy) and Betty Rodgers, Buchanan; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Mildred (Miss Milly), and Morris M. Cregger, Chapin, S.C., Rose Marie and William Wheeler, Lynchburg, Hilda O. Clark, Front Royal, Maxine Nielson, Bozrah, Conn.; a sister, Louanna Dring, Summerville, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 1993, 10 a.m., at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev. William Murdock and the Rev. William St.Clair officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel.
