OBIT CONNER, HESTER ATKINS
CONNER, Hester Atkins, 80, of Route 3, Rocky Mount, The Snow Creek
Community, died Sunday, July 11, 1993. Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by
her husband, Exzenopher (`Zin`) Conner; one daughter, Juanita Parcell Riddle;
one grandson, Brian Reynolds. She is survived by two sons, John R. Conner and
James M. Conner, both of Rocky Mount; five daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Minnie)
Holley, Mrs. Alfred (Bernice) Gauldin, Mrs. Woodrow (Cathy) Johnston, all of
Martinsville, Mrs. Wayne (Margie) Lewis, Mrs. John C. (Mary) Riddle, both of
Axton; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 1993, at the Boones Chapel Church of
the Brethren with the Rev. B. Glenn Voss officiating. Burial will follow in
the Church Cemetery. Those desiring to send flowers may do so, however,
donations may be made to the Snow Creek Rescue Squad. The family will receive
friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home,
Rocky Mount.
