CAR SHOW, CONTEST TO BE HELD AUG. 15

The third annual Jesse Conner Memorial Car Show, sponsored by the Floyd Parks Committee, Inc., will be held Aug. 15, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Floyd County High School.

There will be 28 vehicle classes and 85 trophies awarded. The gates open for contestants at 8:30 a.m., and the entry deadline is noon. Judging begins at 1 p.m.

The show will feature a model car contest and an auction of race-car and sports memorabilia.

Admission is $4; children under 10 are free with a paid adult.

The rain date for this event is Aug. 22.
