OBIT SHULL, ROBERT BRYANT

SHULL, Robert Bryant, ("Brownie"), 72, of Draper, died Monday, July 12, 1993, in the Radford Community Hospital. His residence was Route 1 (Delton Section), Draper. He was born in Beaver Dam, Va. on November 11, 1920, and was the son of the late Robert Bryan Shull Sr. and Lena Edminston Shull. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rufus A. Shull. Mr. Shull moved from Beaver Dam, to Boone, N.C., where he was a life long member of the Three Forks Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He was owner and operator of Masters Cleaners for 30 years. Mr. Shull was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the VFW and the American Legion. He was also member of several other clubs. Surviving are wife, Doris Harrell Shull, Draper; two daughters, Norma Shull, Woodbridge, Va.; Sherry McDuffie, Melbourne Beach, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Ruby S. Michael, Boone, N.C., Mrs. Della Critcher, Boone, N.C., Mrs. Nancy Danner, Sylva, N.C., Mrs. Mary Lee Edmisten, Berkley Springs, W.Va.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. Maynard Powell officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at Stevens Funeral Home or at any time at the residence of Mrs. Grant Bailey, 1901 Monta Vista Drive, Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Joy Ranch, Post Office Box 727, Hillsville, VA 24343, or to the Kidney Foundation or to the Heart Foundation.
