SOCIAL SECURITY'S OFFICE HOURS CHANGE

The Roanoke Social Security office has changed its office hours. The office is now open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to District Manager Fred Ayscue, the change is being made to give representatives time to process the increased workload the office is experiencing.

People who need to contact Social Security when the office is closed may call 800-772-1213 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Most Social Security business can be conducted by phone, including making an appointment with the Roanoke office.
