OBIT ROUPE, VICTOR MARVIN

ROUPE, Victor Marvin 79, of Salem, died Wednesday, July 14, 1993, in a Salem hospital. He was retired from the V.A. Hospital in Salem. He was a member of the West Salem Baptist Church. He was a past member and past President of the Fort Lewis Lion's Club. He is survived by his wife, Doris Gibson Roupe; a daughter, Vivian Smith of Roanoke; a son, Vernon Roupe of Stewartsville; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Brenda and Tom Poey of Salem; three brothers, Denver (Bud) Roupe of Salem, Jacob R. Roupe Jr. of Morganton, N.C., Raymond Roupe of Burgaw, N.C.; four sisters, Mildred Norwood of Mt. Olive, N.C., Eunice Harrison of Richmond, Maxine Huddleston of Roanoke, Willa Mae Witherspoon of Asheville, N.C.; a special grandson, J. P. Poey and also four other grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Rev. Michael Slaughter and Rev. Ken Nienke officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel after noon on Thursday.
