OBIT CHILDRESS, CLYDE CHARLIE

CHILDRESS, Clyde Charlie, 59, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 1993. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a mill operator for Lynchburg Foundry with 25 years service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Peggy Farmer Childress of Radford; two sons and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Tammy Childress of Dublin, William R. (Butch) Childress of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two daughters and son-in-law, Terry C. and Steve Edwards of Dublin, Melinda C. Ryan of Radford; four grandchildren, Season and Whitney Childress, Jami and John Edwards; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Claudine Childress of Roanoke, J. S. and Glenna Childress of Radford, A. L. Childress of Roanoke; special sister, Elsie C. Ratcliffe of Abingdon; one sister, Nellie Roark of Abingdon; one sister-in-law, Sandy Childress of Thaxton. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Neil Long officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home.
