HEAT GUARD COLES TO HAVE SURGERY

Miami Heat guard Bimbo Coles will have surgery Sunday to repair a torn muscle in his left shoulder and chest, the team said Thursday.

Coles, a former Virginia Tech star, was injured playing in a pickup game Saturday in Virginia. Team physician Harlan Selesnick will perform the operation.

Coles averaged 10.6 points and 4.6 assists in 81 games last season.
