AMPHITHEATER HOSTS JULY `MILITIA DAYS'

The Long Way Home amphitheater will host "Militia Days" July 24 and 25. Representatives of nine groups, ranging from a Colonial-style militia to the modern National Guard, will drill and demonstrate the military tactics and strategies of their day.

The event will celebrate the periods in the nation's history when a citizens militia provided the first line of defense.

Activities begin at 10 a.m. each day and wind up at 5 p.m. The $2 admission also counts toward the price of a ticket to see "The Long Way Home" that same evening.
