OBIT-BASIEL, DOROTHY LACHANCE ALTHEN

BASIEL, Dorothy LaChance Althen, 85, of Lexington, died Wednesday, July 14, 1993, at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mrs. Basiel was born in Connecticut on February 20, 1908, a daughter of the late William and Mary J. Zwick LaChance. She was the widow of Joseph Jonathan Basiel and was a member of the Lexington Woman's Club and a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lexington. Mrs. Basiel is survived by a daughter, Avis Meskus, Lexington; a son, Lee E. Althen, Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Barbara Todd, Litchfield, Conn.; Gladys Norton, St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren, Heidi, Marc, Curtis, Roger, and Eric; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be conducted Monday, July 19, 1993, 11 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lexington First Aid Crew. Arrangements by the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
