OBIT CARTER, IDA MARTIN

CARTER, Ida Martin, 82, of Route 1, Henry, died Thursday, July 15, 1993, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born October 3, 1910, and was preceded in death by her husband, Grover W. Carter; two sons, Paul L. and Wayne G. Carter. Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Bernice Johnson of Ferrum, Betty and Leonard Hylton of Vinton, Irene and Milton Bowles, and Jewel and Wayne Bussey, all of Rocky Mount; two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Ruth Carter and Glen and Patricia Carter, all of Henry; also surviving is one sister, Fannie Martin of Henry; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 1993, at Lynch Chapel by Elders Junior Conner and Lane Carter with interment to follow in the Republican Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Saturday at Lynch Fuenral Home, Rocky Mount, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to Republican Primitive Baptist Church or Ferrum Rescue Squad.
