OBIT STARKEY, ELIZABETH H.
STARKEY, Elizabeth H. 84, of Huntington, W. Va., died Wednesday, July 14,
1993, at Johnson-Willis Hospital, Richmond, Va. She was born February 6, 1909,
in Roanoke, was the daughter of the late Samuel William and Letitia Randolph
Smith Hairston and was former president of Kipling Shoe Company of Milton for
15 years. She was a graduate of Farmville University, Farmville, Va., member
of First United Methodist Church, D.A.R. and Huntington Woman's Club. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Starkey. Survivors include her
children, Elizabeth Lee Barlion of Henderson, Nev., Patricia Abbott of Bolder
City, Nev., Chauncey Starkey of Amelia; eight grandchildren; ten
great-grandchildren; one sister, Lettie Hairston Hodges of Roanoke. Funeral
services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary with the Rev.
Lander Beal officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Burial Park,
Huntington, W.Va. The family will receive friends at Klingel-Carpenter
Mortuary Saturday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
