SILVERMAN-HUGHES

On May 22, 1993, in a weddingceremony honoring Jesus as theirMessiah, Melanie Lynn Hughes wasmarried to Daniel Louis Silverman. The ceremony included both Jewish andChristian traditions and was held atLakeside Baptist Church, Salem, Va.Pastor Art Hearne and the Rev. WillVarner from The Friends of Israel GospelMinistry officiated. Pastor Mike Duffield from Victory Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, N.C, administered communion. A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall.

Carrying a bride's Bible, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father and mother. The maid of honor was JoanNewman, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dana Sheffler and Amy Cooper of Roanoke. Flowergirl was ElizabethNewman of Chilicothe, Ohio, niece of the bride.

The groom was escorted to the altar by his father and stepmother. TonyGilliam of Winston-Salem, N.C., was best man. The groomsmen were Sam Sheffield of Winston-Salem, and Roger Hughes of Roanoke. Ringbearer was MichaelNewman of Chilicothe, Ohio, nephew of the bride.

The guestbook was attended byJennifer Ronning. The wedding director was Brenda Liles, who also catered the reception and was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Frances Beckner.

Wedding music was performed bysoloist, Ruth Williams, and a duet was sung by Michelle Hopper and Christian Hoyle. The pianist was Mrs. Sharron Hearne.

The bride is the daughter of Ray and Lois Hughes of Roanoke, and is a graduate of Berean Christian Academy. Sheattended Piedmont Bible College, and is a graduate of the Institute of BiblicalStudies, Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, Bellmawr, N.J.

The groom, son of Mr. LouisSilverman, Cincinnatti, Ohio, graduated from Finneytown High School. He served 5 years in the U.S. Marines and is astudent at Piedmont Bible College,Winston-Salem, N.C.

After a wedding trip, the coupleresides in Winston-Salem, N.C.
