OBIT GILMORE, THELMA HAMILTON
GILMORE, Thelma Hamilton (`Dot`), 74, of Roanoke, died Saturday, July 17,
1993, in a local hospital. She was born in Bland County, but lived most of her
life in Pearisburg. She was the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Sallie
Stinson Hamilton of Bland. She was the widow of Herbert Stanley Gilmore, who
died in November of 1992. She is survived by two sons, Richard Carlton Gilmore
of Lynchburg and Robert Stanley Hamilton Gilmore of Washington, D.C.; one
sister, Georgie Hoge of Bland; a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside
services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, at Sunset Cemetery in
Christiansburg with the Rev. Walter Edwards officiating. The family will
receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roanoke County Life Saving Crew
#5, Hollins.
