OBIT ANDERSON, LAVONIA POWELL
ANDERSON, Lavonia Powell, 95, of Roanoke, died Saturday, July 17, 1993, in
a local hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter M. Anderson, and
two sons, Walter M. Anderson Jr. and Richard A. Anderson. She was a member of
Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and is survived by a son and
daughter-in-law, David and Norma Anderson, Cleveland, Miss.; two daughters and
a son-in-law, Thelma and James Homer McGhee, Vinton, and Mary A. Emory,
Roanoke; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. John
(Elizabeth) Plevakis, Culpeper. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30
a.m. Monday, July 19, 1993, from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Rev. William
Anthony Layman and Dr. George Wesley Jones officiating. Interment will be at 1
p.m. Monday from Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg. Friends may call at Oakey's
Roanoke Chapel, where the family will receive friends form 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
