Former "Designing Women" star Meshach Taylor is joining the cast of "Dave's World," a new CBS sitcom based on the work of humor columnist Dave Barry.

Taylor will play Shel, a single father and an overworked plastic surgeon, when the series makes its debut in the fall, CBS announced this week.

"Designing Women" ended its seven-year run this year.

The body of Ferdinand Marcos will be flown to the Philippines from Hawaii on Sept. 5, nearly four years after his death, a family spokesman said.

The Philippine government has agreed to allow the return of the remains provided they are flown directly to the former president's home province of Ilocos Norte and buried there.

Philippines Congressman Roque Ablan Jr. was traveling to Honolulu on Tuesday to coordinate plans for the return of the body, said Joe Lazo, president of Friends for Marcos in Honolulu.
