MARK YOUR CALENDAR TO GET SENIOR ID MADE

SENIOR IDENTIFICATION DISCOUNT CARDS will be available in the New River Valley.

Mark your calendar. The New River Valley Agency on Aging will make senior citizen identification and discount cards at several sites during August and September.

If you're 60 or older and would like a card, visit the location in your area and bring proof of age, such as a driver's license, birth certificate or Social Security card, and your Social Security number.

Each card will have the individual's photograph, name, address, birth date and Social Security number and may be used to obtain discounts or other special services available to seniors.

It also may serve as a form of identification.

A $1.50 donation is requested to cover the cost of making the card.

Here's the schedule:

\ Giles County Senior Center, 1320 Wenonah Ave., Pearisburg: Aug. 2., from 9 until 11 a.m.

\ Radford Senior Center, 27 First St., Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. until noon.
